The app
Unhogged reads your Mac — processes, memory, storage, network, sensors, audio devices — to show you what's happening. Everything it learns stays on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/app.unhogged.desktop. Delete that folder and it's gone.
- No account, no analytics, no crash reports, no advertising identifiers.
- It never reads another app's environment variables, which is where API keys and passwords usually live.
- Per-app loudness passes an app's sound through a volume control on its way to your speakers. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent.
The licence check
This is the app's only network request. When you activate, Unhogged sends your licence key, your Mac's name (so you can recognise it on your purchase page) and the app's version to Polar, our payment provider. Every few days it sends the key again to confirm it's still valid. Nothing about your apps, files or usage is included.
Buying
Purchases are handled by Polar, who act as merchant of record: they take payment, charge the right tax, and send your receipt. Polar receives your name, email, billing address and payment details; we see your name, email and order. See Polar's own privacy policy for how they handle it.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no trackers. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, page, time) for security, briefly.
